About the role
Omniscient Digital is growing quickly, and we deeply believe in our commitment never to compromise content quality. It’s what differentiates us from other agencies. Writing great content requires great writers. That’s you!
This contracted role is not your typical freelance project. Sure, you’ll maintain the autonomy, freedom, and flexibility of a freelancer, but you’ll also be joining an experienced team of content and marketing professionals who care about the end product.
Most of our freelancers have been working with us long-term and enjoy a steady stream of work.

Important: This opening is for a position on our freelance bench. This is the pool of writers we pull from whenever we begin work with a new client.
However, our availability of new client work is not constant. We prefer to review applications on a rolling basis and reach out to folks we’re interested in working with when client work becomes available.
Please note that if we’d like to work with you, we will ask to hold onto your information so that we may contact you later on. A statement from us that we want to work with you—or offering you a contract—is not a guarantee of work in any particular timeframe.
Once we do staff client accounts, writers usually stay on that account for the duration of our engagement with the client.
We do read every application, and we’ll aim to get back to you within a few weeks of submitting your application. However, response times may be slower depending on seasonality, the current need for additional writers, and other factors. Thank you for your patience!
What we’re looking for
These skills and competencies are required to succeed as a member of the Omniscient Digital team.
You’re an excellent content writer who thoroughly researches and develops written content for various industries, audiences, and verticals. You can identify data, insights, and stories that bolster your content and craft a narrative that guides readers through your work and propels them to take action.
Please note that we don’t work with writers who subcontract their work.
You’re focused on growth and understand that your content should drive not only traffic but also measurable results. Your work is guided by the client’s business goals and strategies, as well as the audience for which you write.
You’re experienced with SEO, know how to search-optimize your content without sacrificing quality, and can balance the needs of both your client and reader within your content.
You’re collaborative and communicative by nature. You always meet your deadlines—or communicate in advance when you may need a deadline pushed back. You’re open to feedback and love learning how to improve your craft. You champion your work and are willing to work with editors, designers, marketers, and directly with clients when need be.
You’re kind, passionate, curious, and friendly!

These skills aren’t required but are highly valued.
You have experience interviewing subject matter experts. You’re naturally curious and enjoy leveling up your content with expert opinion and narrative. You’re comfortable independently conducting interviews that guide or supplement your writing. You know how to draft questions to get the information you need and how to structure stories around the answers.
You have B2B, SaaS, and marketing experience. We primarily work with clients in these fields. Writing and/or first-hand experience in one or more of these areas will help you acclimate to our working environment and excel in your craft.
