About this role
We’re seeking a scrappy, driven Media Marketing Intern who loves podcasts, thrives on social media, and enjoys algorithm hacking. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their digital marketing skills while directly contributing to tangible growth goals and big, creative projects.
You'll be given a huge amount of freedom to grow the business, so if that kind of ownership excites you, read on.
Internship length: 3 months with flexible start and end dates
Holiday schedule: The timeline will exclude December 18, 2023 - January 1, 2024 as the company will be offline during that time. For example, if you begin on November 1, 2023, the role will run until February 16, 2023
Your responsibilities
Your job as a Media Marketing Intern will include, but won’t be limited to:
Podcast Promotion: Your primary project will be to double our monthly podcast downloads. You'll do this by creatively repurposing our content and promoting it across various channels to reach new audiences. You will have autonomy in how you want to achieve this goal. We’re doing the bare minimum for promotion right now, so not only is there a ton of low hanging fruit, but there’s a ton of room for creativity and experimentation.
Blog Management: Optimize the blog to grow traffic and conversions. This will include, but won’t be limited to Improving internal linking across website/blog and updating calls to action to direct visitors to our library of gated content downloads to optimize conversions.
Produce BOFU Blog Content: You will write bottom-of-the-funnel (BOFU) blog content to drive leads. This involves understanding our target audience's needs and crafting compelling content that moves them towards conversion.
Produce a Magazine: You will be instrumental in producing a magazine related to our podcast. This project will require innovative thinking, coordination with multiple team members, and a keen eye for design and storytelling.

Who you are
Passionate about digital marketing: You are eager to learn and grow your digital marketing skill set. You probably listen to podcasts like My First Million or even The Long Game. Maybe you read blogs like CXL, HubSpot, or Reforge and follow thought leaders like April Dunford, Dave Gerhardt, Brian Dean, or Noah Kagan.
Algorithm hacker: You have a knack for understanding and leveraging algorithms to maximize content reach and engagement. You want to figure out “what works” on a platform and how to maximize distribution among our target audience.
Creative and scrappy: You are resourceful and not afraid to think outside the box. You can come up with innovative ideas to promote our content and increase audience engagement.
Strong communication skills: You can effectively communicate your ideas in writing and are comfortable collaborating with a remote team.
You seek feedback. You’re eager to learn new things to grow and improve your skills.
You’re an intellectually curious critical thinker. Time flies by as you find yourself researching interesting topics or finding creative ways to solve a problem.
Detail-oriented: You’re discerning and realize that the small details stack up and create truly impactful campaigns. You use spell check.
Goal-oriented: You are motivated by challenging goals and work diligently to achieve them.
You’re great at working independently. You’re comfortable setting and achieving your own goals and can communicate what you’re working on. You don't need or want to be managed, and you don't depend on stress or high-pressure environments to get shit done.
