About this role

We’re seeking to bring on a strong Senior Writer to support a large team of freelance writers, serve as an editorial source of truth, and craft compelling, high-quality content for our clients. You have experience in writing for content marketing, publishing, or related fields. You feel comfortable balancing multiple clients, collaborating with a team of freelancers on our large accounts, and working within the flow of a consistent, high-output editorial calendar.

What you’ll do

  • Write SEO and thought leadership content for a variety of B2B SaaS for clients across multiple industries

  • Successfully capture each client’s messaging, audience, brand, and product in every piece of content

  • Provide editorial feedback on content for quality assurance (alongside other editors)

  • Serve as an editorial source of truth for freelance writers and editors

  • Act as a liaison between editorial, strategy, and a large team of freelance writers and editors for the accounts you work on

  • Be an expert on internal editorial process, answering freelancer questions and providing guidance where necessary

  • Ensure editorial reference documents are updated and current

  • Assist with freelance new hire screening and onboarding

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends

Who you are

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a content marketing/writing role. B2B, SaaS, and marketing experience is a major plus. We primarily work with clients in these fields. Writing and/or first-hand experience in one or more of these areas will help you acclimate to our working environment and excel in your craft. 

  • You have experience working and communicating with a team of freelancers. You feel comfortable leading others and working collaboratively. You’re experienced in providing constructive feedback.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and healthy analytical and critical thinking skills. You’re skilled at finding the story within complicated topics and can help our writers capture a client’s brand voice in every piece of writing.

  • You can juggle multiple projects and responsibilities with multiple people at once. 

  • You have a positive attitude. You’re kind, passionate, curious, and friendly! You’re open to exploring new ideas and feel passionately about excellent content. You welcome feedback and love learning how to improve your craft.

  • You’re process-oriented. You try to be as efficient as possible and manage your time accordingly.

  • You’re adaptable. Change is inevitable, and you’re ok with that.

  • You have a degree in English, creative writing, journalism, or marketing (preferred but not required).

  • FYI, the application passcode is “vegetable lasagna”

  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts. You’re comfortable independently conducting SME interviews to add industry opinion and narrative to your content. You know how to draft questions to get the needed information and structure stories around the answers.

  • Some B2B, SaaS, and/or marketing experience. We primarily work with clients in these fields. Writing and/or first-hand experience in one or more of these areas will help you acclimate to our working environment and excel.
